For years, private cruise companies have been taking people to the base of the falls for a surreal experience you must see to believe. Hornblower Niagara Cruises offers a massive catamaran that sets sail every 15 minutes, navigating passengers as close to the falls as you can possibly get. It’s pretty windy over there, but it’s not scary – just super intense and so cool.
Journey Behind the Falls
Want to see Niagara Falls from a unique perspective? You can take a peek at the waterfall from behind it, quite literally. You’ll take an elevator 150 feet down before walking through a 130-year-old tunnel that’s been carved into the bedrock. Right before your eyes you’ll see the water of the falls crashing down with great intensity.
You can head down to the lower observation deck for a clearer view. This gives you a chance to stand as close to the falls as a person can safely get.

Do your kids love Ferris wheels? Than be sure to check out the 175-foot observation wheel that offers views of both the American and Canadian side of the Falls, as well as the surrounding city. The ride takes about 10 minutes and reaches 175-feet into the air. Plus, each wheel is fully enclosed and air conditioned for utmost comfort.
Ride the Whirlpool Aero Car
Take a tour above the falls on the suspended whirlpool aero car, below you’ll catch great views of the whirling water and the Niagara River. Plus, you’ll see stunning sights all around from such great heights.
