The Best Time to Visit Niagara Falls

adminPlaces to Visit

Niagara Falls is a unique attraction that everyone should see at least once in their lives. It is not easy to select the ideal time to visit Niagara Falls. It takes more than just checking the weather forecast; in fact, it all depends on you and what you want to do. Of course, the summer season remains the most popular time of the year to take a trip to Niagara Falls. Not only are the children off of school, but the weather is also perfect. But there is a reason to visit Niagara Falls at any time of year. Each season has its own set of benefits and activities to offer.

Summer

Summertime is the peak tourist season, so expect to see a lot of tourists around every corner. The average summer temperature is between 20-27C degrees (70F to 80F) . Even though The Falls will be crowded, coming during the summer provides several advantages.

  •     You will be able to completely take advantage of the beautiful weather while enjoying the Niagara fall attractions.
  •     You will find the most things to do on either side of The Falls during this time because everything is accessible all day.
  •     You will be able to get from one location to another by taking the free Discover Niagara Shuttle, which is fully available during the summer months.

There are drawbacks as well. Because the summer season is the busiest season for guests to visit the falls, prices skyrocket and queues for attractions and activities stretch for miles. And, if you want to get good photos, you will have to arrive early in the morning to avoid having strangers in your shots.

Spring

There are fewer tourists in the spring than in the summer, but there are also more rainy days. The weather is continuously changing, with some days being extremely hot and others being extremely cold. The spring season, like the summer, has its advantages. The Niagara Park Botanical Gardens will be in full bloom in the spring, with its brilliantly grown perennials, azaleas, herb and vegetable plantings, and the world-famous rose garden that has over 2,400 roses.

Another benefit is that, with spring, comes the opportunity to go hiking and bird watching. In addition, some guided tours reopen back up again. If you prefer scheduled activities and guided trips, going in the spring is likely to be more appealing than visiting in the winter.

Fall

If you enjoy watching the leaves change color and taking long walks in cool weather, fall is a great time to visit Niagara Falls. Throughout this season, there are a variety of ways to see the Falls, from helicopter rides to guided tours. Not only are the waterfalls in full force, but the neighboring parks are also pretty lovely with all of the autumn leaves in bloom. If you want to save money on your trip, fall is a fantastic season to go. Starting in September, accommodation rates drop, as do the prices of attractions and trips.
